Job Description

Senior QC analyst required to join an expanding and growing company that is a leading name in their industry. The company is part of a larger global group of companies that produces profits of close to £500million and employs 10,000+ staff aroundthe world. The South Wales site is one of the leading companies in Europe in their field and prides itself on the innovation it can provide its clients.You will work closely with the QC team leader and take on a senior role in the team being pivotal in the efficient running of the laboratory. The role will involve working a rotating 2 shift pattern of days (6am-2pm) and afternoons (1:30pm-9:30pm).Senior QC analyst duties will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the operations of the QC shift, particularly outside of office hours where you will be the most senior point of contact within the laboratory
  • Performing a range of complex analysis on samples received into the laboratory against defined lead times
  • Calibration of laboratory instrumentation
  • Ensuring the integrity of data generated within the laboratory
  • Accurately perform checks of analytical data/results in line with company procedures
  • Participating in the resolution of operational issues
  • Liaising with the quality management team to ensure laboratory resources and testing performance meet regulatory expectations for compliance
  • Achieving set targets for laboratory sample throughput
  • Ensuring effective communication with the other shift to ensure cohesion
To apply for the senior QC analyst role, you will need:
  • Experience in working in a quality control laboratory in a manufacturing, scientific or technical environment
  • A degree-level qualification in a relevant scientific subject (Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, etc.)
  • To be skilled in the use of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC and ICP-OES
  • A good understanding of GMP
  • Previous experience in a supervisory / team leading capacity is desirable
