Job Description

  • £70+ per day

  • Full time position, Monday to Friday

  • Based in Tower Hamlets, this SEMH Teaching Assistant role is due to start in September and will involve working with an OUTSTANDING specialist provision for primary aged boys with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Some students will have an additional diagnosis of ADD/ADHD, dyslexia and/or dyspraxia.The primary focus of this SEMH boys school is to support pupils to reintegrate into mainstream schooling. This Tower Hamlets school starts at 8.50am and ends at 3.10pm. The SEMH Teaching Assistant will need to be on site at 8.30am. Students usually spend 90% of their time on site and the remaining time at their mainstream school with a view to building on that time if suitable.Pupils attend the school because their behavioural difficulties prevent them properly accessing the curriculum in a mainstream environment. The SEMH Teaching Assistant will work alongside teaching staff to provide additional resources, 1:1 support and facilitate their learning more effectively by providing individualised support. This Tower Hamlets school works hard to offer quality education and training, providing an enriched, experiential and well-differentiated curriculum in order to meet the needs of every child. Every pupils individual needs and abilities are taken into account and SEMH Teaching Assistants play a vital role in ensuring each pupil can achieve their personal outcomes successfully.There are four classes, which cater for years 1 to year 6 offering education and training experiences in each curriculum area.
