Warehouse ManagerRhondda Cyon TaffMaterials ManufacturerPermanent Salary DOEThis manufacturer/stockist of specialist and bespoke materials are looking to recruit a Warehouse manager, to motivate, mentor and encourage the Warehouse staff and have responsibility for the overall development and maintenance of the departments functionality.The role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, grinding, cutting, material handling, storage and on time delivery performance. Provide Sales with a continuous smooth process from goods receipt to final despatched providing the service levels required for our target markets, whilst still maintaining our high standards of both quality and health and safety responsibilities. The Warehouse Manager will have experience in a similar position within a fast-paced logistics environment.Warehouse Manager duties will include:The role will involve liaising with other Managers and departments within the business and across the Group to promote best practices throughout the department, instilling both a health and safety and improvement culture into every employee.Leading by example creating a culture in line withexpectations.Ensure that the department controls are effective in ensuring that all products sent meet or exceed customer expectationsEnsure all warehouse documents and regulatory requirements are correctly recorded, controlled and maintained; consistently reviewing and improving all documentation, processes, and controls to enable effective and robust systems.Act as the warehouse primary point of contact on all matters.Manage workflow.Manage the workforce; including holding probationary meetings, disciplinary and grievance meetings, back to work meetings, and sickness & absence paperwork.Through performance management, achieve and maintain a level of performance that is defined through agreed KPI measures and the appraisal system.Pro-actively pursue excellence in order to improve customer service and attract new business.Ability to motivate and revitalise the departments contribution towards service levels and improvements systems.Lead, coach and motivate the department on all matters.Proactively lead measurable continuous improvement initiatives and report on their progress.The Warehouse Manager will have the following experience:Previous leadership experience, ideally from within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Proven success in leading and motivating a team.Exposure to lean principlesProficient in Microsoft Office products.People Management experience - a proven ability to manage the warehouse departments expectations for our on-time delivery program.A team player with the ability to actively participate within the team and lead by example, always acting in a professional manner to encourage respect from employees at all levels.A strong communicator and a good listener who will encourage improvement ideas at all levels of the team.Proven ability to perform under pressure.Willingness to make decisions as and when needed, particularly in times of pressure.A flexible approach and willingness to work additional hours to meet the needs of the businessTo apply for this position, please forward your details to .Your CV will be forwarded to Jonathan Lee Recruitment, a leading engineering and manufacturing recruitment consultancy established in 1978.
