Job Description

If you are a graduate specialising in psychology, English or maths then get paid to share your experience in a secondary school setting. Teaching Personnel are working closely with a partner school in RCT, Porth County, to find a highly driven Teaching Assistant to support with pupil interventionsYou will start December 3rd for the remainder of the academic year. After a successful three month probationary period you will be transferred onto a permanent school contract.The school provides strong support for pupils from a range of behavioural and SEN backgrounds. Many of our teaching assistants are able to work in different provisions catered to specialist areas and key interests. Some of these include;

  • Revolving door, mainstream integration unit
  • Internal Exclusion
  • 1:1 emotional support
  • Pupil referral unit
  • The school has recently undergone a merging of two schools and has since overcome the various teething issues brought about with an amalgamation. As a result, they are looking for fresh, enthusiastic staff to join their brand new state of the art facilities immediately. The new school boasts incredible sports facilities, a beauty studio, drama and music units to help pupils integrate into extra curricular aspects of school life.For this specific role, you will be working with small groups of pupils to lead intervention workshops. You will assist in booster Maths and English sessions and help pupils who struggle in mainstream classes.The role requires someone from a highly patient and empathetic demeanour that will be able to understand the pupils key interests and form a strong bond. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will be a role model for the pupils who will encourage them and provide confidence in the mainstream classroom and in social interactions around the school.Candidates that are suited for this type of school tend to have experience in some of the following:

  • Youth/Community work experience

  • Residential support/care worker

  • The role is due to immediately and will be for the remainder of the academic year as well as the next academic year starting in September. potential to be put onto a permanent school contract dependant upon your performance.
