Job Description

Avenues is a community where people smile, laugh, grow and achieve great things.You will have the amazing opportunity to make a wonderful impact on peoples lives and supporting the Service Manager to build and lead a great team, receiving full support from the beginning of your journey with us.We just ask that you share our values and you have a fun, positive and can do attitude!We are looking for you to join a new service in Tonbridge supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities in a large fully accessible building close to local amenities.This service is home to six active residents. Three gentlemen and three ladies. Ranging in age from 52-92 they all enjoy a wide range of community activities from getting their TV Times and having lunch out to going Horse riding and bowling. When at homethey all enjoy a sing a- long with the visiting music man every Monday, spending time watching TV such as carry on movies, musicals and quiz shows.In the warmer weather they enjoy day trips out or enjoying the comfort of their garden.Our ideal Assistant Service Manager looks like this!

  • Work with your Service Manager to manage and lead a successful and positive team.
  • Understands the balance between keeping our people safe and positive risk taking.
  • Have a good understanding of the social care sector and how this benefits and impacts the people we support.
  • Stay up to date with policies and procedures to carry out and maintain safe and best practices.
  • Support the Service Manager to recruit new employees and develop and manage your staff team in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Work with your Service Manager to reinforce a positive culture of continuous improvement.
  • Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
