Job Description

Utilities Surveyor / ASLAID Surveyor£32,000 - £35,000 per annumFull Time, PermanentOur client is a multi-disciplined, civil engineering and utility contractor operating nationally, providing a range of utility and civil engineering services including multi-utilities. Established for more than 40 years, they are framework partners withseveral major utilities, driven by a commitment to maintaining and developing solid client relationships. They continue to diversify and reinforce their reputation for delivering quality you can build on.They are recruiting for our expanding Utility Surveying team at all levels, but we require an additional experienced Utility / ASLAID Surveyor to join the existing team.Working predominantly within the electric framework contract they hold with Western Power Distribution, but will support all areas of electrical and civil engineering job requirements across our clients business. They are looking for a hardworking and efficientindividual to survey and record below ground assets such as cables, ducts & pipes using a variety of different techniques.You will also be responsible for working with and training Trainee Utility Cable Surveyors.This role reports into the StreetWorks Manager.Hours of workMonday to Friday 50 hours per week, some weekend work required, and you will be responsible for ensuring all weekend work is covered.A full driving licence is needed for this roleWhat you will be responsible for

  • Creating job packs in line with the schedule of works
  • Attending multiple sites across the contract areas to survey newly installed electric mains cables (Services / LV main / HV main / EHV Mains)
  • Draftsman Drawing Skills (With scale ruler) to capture information on to a scale OS map
  • Conduct Utility Cable/Services Site Surveillance using GPS
  • Complete Client Liaison Data Collection
  • Writing reports upon investigation and liaising with clients
What Knowledge, Skills & Abilities do you require
  • Methodical and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills: telephone, verbal & written
  • Excellent AutoCAD and IT/Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook and using client 3rd party software)
  • Planning and Organising
  • Ability to train people
  • Professionally represent their organisation
Technical Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience as an As-laid technician/site surveyor within the Utilities sectorAnd in return you will receive!
