Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly-successful manufacturing client and global market leader!Client DetailsThis is a great opportunity to work for a reputable organisation with a global footprint, combined with the ability to add genuine value across their UK manufacturing operation.DescriptionThe West Midlands based Purchasing Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the strategic procurement of all raw materials, packaging and consumables across a manufacturing operation, ensuring full availability to meet customer requirements whilst minimising costs and working capital in line with financial and strategictargets
  • Develop, maintain and execute a continuous improvement plan for purchasing which minimises stock holding, redundancy, wastage, costs and out of stocks
  • Negotiate contracts of supply that provide the best procurement and logistics outcomes to ensure material availability, customer satisfaction and cost competitiveness
  • Work with the commercial and technical teams to deliver industry leading innovation development, securing sustainable and competitive supply of raw materials
  • Manage and develop the logistical division and third party storage for optimum performance and cost
ProfileThe successful candidate will have strong bulk materials (container shipping) procurement experience, gained within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.International procurement experience would be highly advantageous, alongside experience of managing a complex supply base within directs and indirects (300+ suppliers!)CIPS would be highly advantageous, alongside a degree level qualification.Job OfferThe successful candidate for this Purchasing Manager role will be offered a competitive salary and package.
