Job Description

ASSISTANT AREA MANAGER

If so, please continue readingTHE ROLEOur client, a specialist milk haulier is looking for a driven and ambitious individual, who is full of grit and determination to join their team as an Assistant Area Manager. You will be covering 2 depots in Staffordshire, and whilst the role will certainlybe challenging, you will; however, in return be joining a company that truly puts their employees and their well being at the forefront of what they do. You will have full training, and a transparent and straight career path set out for you.TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FORWorking across two sites in Staffordshire within a fast-moving 365 days a year milk haulage operation. You will be responsible for:
  • Organising and allocating milk collection routes and arranging resources to fulfil requirements
  • Arranging repairs and general maintenance of vehicles in line with statutory requirements and inspection schedules. Support is available from the Workshop Manager and Transport Manager to complete this task.
  • Advising on the best routes for drivers and ensuring that collection and deliveries are cost effective and within the agreed timescales.
  • Meeting monthly targets
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Practical experience within a busy logistics planning operation is essential,
  • Experience of managing or supervising a small team across more than one site is desirable,
  • Interested in developing own knowledge and skills and strong desire to move up the ranks,
  • Strong IT and Administration skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word is essential, to ensure accurate and timely record keeping (Support will be available from IT consultants).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
  • Resilient, organised, and reliable with a strong work ethic,
  • Able to follow and understand processes and especially for compliance with DTAS, Food Safety standards, Health & Safety regulations, Drivers hours and Working Time regulations and site maintenance requirements,
  • A full UK driving licence is essential,
  • An HGV License is highly desirable.
