Lead Designer - Curtain Walling & Glazing SystemsJob Title: Lead Designer - Curtain Walling & Glazing SystemsIndustry Sector: Designer, Facades, Architectural Glazing, Cladding, Rainwater Systems, Rainscreen Cladding, Building Envelope, Aluminium Windows, Aluminium Doors, Curtain Walling, Glazing, Main Contractors, Developers, House BuildersLocation: Cannock OR Mildenhall OR AttleboroughRemuneration: £30,000 - £40,000Benefits: Full Benefits PackageThe role of the Lead Designer - Curtain Walling & Glazing Systems will involve:

  • Lead designer position producing designs for a high end manufactured range of architectural glazing systems such as: aluminium windows and doors, curtain walling, glazing, and rainscreen cladding
  • Responsible for all aspects of design and material schedules for assigned projects
  • Possess good knowledge of every product required in a given project to pass on knowledge to the rest of design team
  • Ensuring that all designers on your project have a good understanding of what is required
  • Responsible for the preparation, submission, approval and filing of all relevant specification information and calculations
  • Ensure that all designs and schedules are produced on time according to the programme
  • Report any errors or cost implications to the Design Manager
  • Liaising with various departments to ensure smooth running of projects
  • Attend weekly meetings with Design Manager to report progress and plan workload for projects
  • Scope to work remotely for a couple of days per week
The ideal applicant will be a Lead Designer - Curtain Walling & Glazing Systems experience with:
  • Must have experience in faade design and engineering
  • Must have good technical knowledge of the faade industry (curtain walling, windows and doors, glazing, and rainscreens)
  • Ideally will have man management skills
  • Must be have a strong understanding of AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be highly organised, capable of prioritising own workload to ensure deadline are met
  • Proactive and motivated individual with strong commercial awareness
