Job Description

Electrical Controls and Instrumentation TechnicianLocation: Theddingworth, LeicestershireSalary: £37,500 Plus BenefitsThe CompanyThe Company are an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) service provider who have been awarded a 5-year agreement to operate and maintain the Welland Biomass Facility, located at, Pebble Hall, Off Theddingworth Road, Theddingworth, Leicestershire, LE17 6NJ.The Facility uses gasification technology and is designed to process up to 72,000 tonnes of Biomass per annum. The company are a renowned thermal renewables and environmental engineering, service provider. They have been established for over a decade andhave been successfully operating in the renewable power generation sector throughout this period.The RoleThey are actively recruiting 2 positions for Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician(s) to join the Maintenance Department of a gasification power station in Leicestershire. The EC&I Technician will be responsible for carrying out allPPM and reactive maintenance on all EC&I assets across the power station to ensure plant availability is maximized and downtime is kept to a minimum.Responsibilities

  • Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to maximize plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment.
  • Available to be on call after hours every three weeks for one week Friday to Friday
  • Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency
  • Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site piranha data
  • Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
  • Working within the company health, safety and environmental processes and procedures at all times.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
  • A time served apprenticeship with an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PLC, DCS, Instrumentation and some electrical systems
  • At least 4 years of maintenance experience gained in a heavy process environment e.g. power station, chemical plant, refinery, steel works etc.
  • Some experience with planning and scoping works with the ability to complete small projects
  • Knowledge of PID and 3-way loops would be beneficial
  • Experience with CMMS or Piranha (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • The highest regard for health, safety, and environmental compliance
