Location of work: Fully remoteIR35 determination: outside of IR35The Role: An IoT electronics business require a Mechanical Design Engineer to reduce the size of their IoT device which will be mass manufactured. In simple terms the device is a small plastic box which houses electronics.You will be tasked with reducing the size of the current device, whilst using some design flair to make it stand out from the competition. You should also use your mechanical design skills so that the device can be opened and closed easily when a servicemanneeds to access the device in the field.As the business is primarily a software business, you will be the sole Mechanical Design Engineer. As such you should feel comfortable taking ownership of all mechanical design tasks.As well as doing the mechanical design, you will be required to provide forecast of costings for tooling, cost of manufacture etc.In this role you will be work closely with an electronics engineer contractor who is reducing the size of the electronic pcb design.This role offers you opportunity to be the businesses go-to Mechanical Design Engineer whenever mechanical work needs to be done.Skills required:
