Job Description

deverellsmithare working with a leading Build to Rent operator to find a multi skilled maintenance operative in Manchester.Purpose of the roleTo assist the facilities manager & maintenance team in the day to day presentation & maintenance of the development. To ensure client & colleague safety & comfort at all times. Have a basic knowledge of health & safety, fire safety, & specific trade knowledge of water & heating services, plumbing systems, wet heating systems, & rainwater systemsResponsibilitiesMulti Skilled role:

  • To ensure works completed are to a high standard & completed within realistic time frame / stipulated time.
  • To ensure stock, tools & materials are kept to an acceptable level & usable standard.
  • To communicate effectively & continuously as reasonably practicable with the facilities manager & other departments as required.
  • Inform company of any additional works needed at location.
  • To leave work clean & tidy upon leaving
  • Be able to make sure any works completed are compliant in line with HSE and water bye-laws
  • Be able to respond effectively to emergency call outs / situations
  • Work well independently, yet be supportive of team members and goals.
    • Maintenance team member
  • To identify & communicate potential areas for future works
  • To complete all paperwork & procedures in set timelines
  • To attend all safety briefings/tool box talks
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
    • Critical skills required & Critical knowledge required:
  • Hot copper works – Soldering
  • Soil and vent systems
  • Minor patching & filling works
  • Knowledge of WRAS
  • Strong understanding of COSHH
  • Using ladders and step-ladders
  • Working in “high foot traffic” environment
  • Understand need for high turnaround without compromising standards
    • Qualifications required:
  • City & Guilds or equivalent
  • Provide evidence of skilled/current professional certification and qualification
    • Experience required:Essential:
  • Plumbing skills
  • Good eye for detail
  • Working in domestic properties
  • Able to plan tasks/works thoroughly
    • Desirable:
  • Past experience of working in a customer facing role.
  • Knowledge or planned preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable of Health & Safety issues, & requirements.
  • CSCS Card
  • Unvented water systems
