We are looking for a highly motivated and diligent Automation Engineer with previous experience in a similar role. This is an opportunity to join our client, Britains number 1 professional power tool manufacturer based in Telford.As Automation Engineer, you will help to ensure the achievement of higher productivity through comprehensive design, development, implementation and improvement of machines and improve the productivity, cost and delivery of our clients assembly processes.Key Tasks:* To provide a comprehensive, company-wide and efficient electrical diagnostic, repair and improvement service for plant, machinery, equipment and site services* To identify opportunities for improvement in quality, cost and/or delivery by the design, development and implementation of equipment.* To raise VS1s, justifications and capital approval for spare parts, refurbishments and services* To support TPM activity in line with the issued schedule and procedure* To contribute in meeting the company and department objectives in minimising equipment downtime* To improve SMED, 5S, 5Tests, 5Wastes and Kaizen activity* Implement projects via the use of SMART targets to pre-agreed budgets and time-plansSkills and Experience* Able to demonstrate proven working experience within a manufacturing engineering environment* Have a good working knowledge of fault diagnosis on mechanical and/or electrical faults with I depth knowledge of PLC Programming and Pneumatics* You should hold an ONC/HNC in mechanical, electrical and/or production engineering with a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance or equivalentHoursMon to Thurs 8am to 17.15pm & Fri 8am to 12pm.Benefits* 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays* Life Assurance Cover* Pay-care Health Cash Plan* Subsidised restaurant* Access to onsite medical advice* Power Tools staff discount* Free onsite parking* Significant career development and progression opportunitiesIf you like the sound of this role and think you fit the above description, then we want to hear from you!
