Job Description

  • AS400 IBM i iSeries Operator
  • SHIFT WORK - Within every 28 day period, you will work a total of 7 day shifts and 7 night shifts, with 14 days rest.
  • £24,000 - £28,000 + £3,000 Shift allowance
  • Onsite in Telford
  • Driving licence is essential
IBM i Operator -Responsibility for the IBM i (iSeries AS/400) Infrastructure, resolving faults, incidents and problems and performing approved changes across the customer base.Experience:Previous experience in a technical role primarily focussed on IBM iPrevious experience in a managed services or service provider environmentDemonstrable technical capability on IBM iDemonstrable experience of working in a complex enterprise-level IBM iSkills and Abilities:Required - IBM i OS, BRMS, Work Management, Performance ManagementHighly Advantageous – Good working knowledge of MIMIX and iTERADesirable - Perform operating system upgrades and installation of patches and fixes (PTFs)Preferred – CL, SQL and Automation products (AOS preferred but others acceptable), HMC knowledgeSkill in solving technically challenging problems involving IBM i based application and hardware issuesIBM hardware platforms – Power5/Power6/Power7/Power8/Power 9Due to the volume of applications received for positions, it will not be possible to respond to all applications and only applicants who are considered suitable for interview will be contacted.Proactive Appointments Limited operates as an employment agency and employment business and is an equal opportunities organisationWe take our obligations to protect your personal data very seriously.
