Job Description

Permanent Contract working for an Electrical Distribution / Switchgear Manufacturer operating in the commercial and Industrial sectors.Excellent opportunity for an electrically trained / experienced Application Engineer with CAD skills seeking a project-based role for an expanding manufacturer in Telford.Competitive salary available and opportunity to join a friendly energetic team of Application Engineers within a business that is going from strength to strength.This is an exciting role responsible for ensuring that build projects are successfully planned, designed, manufactured, tested, and delivered.If you have electrical experience with good organisational and communication skills this role will be of interest.Due to continued sales growth the company is expanding their engineering function and looking to attract new talent into the business to join a positive existing team. The successful Applications Engineer will fulfil the following duties -

  • Checking and creating basic CAD designs of electrical schematics of LV Switchgear and Electrical Distribution equipment
  • Issuing drawings, specifying parts, and preparing BOM
  • Preparing instruction packs for Production
  • Liaising with clients and maintaining contact with updates
  • Providing technical support to production
  • Liaising with clients throughout project to include product test and sign off
As Applications Engineer you will have the following experience
  • Electrical qualification advantageous
  • LV Switchgear / Electrical Distribution equipment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Understanding of 2D CAD drawings
  • Project or process engineering
  • Component specification and ability to produce Bill of Materials
  • Technical Support and Customer account management
