Job Description

RoleWe are currently seeking a Senior Linux Software Engineer to join our North East based client. You will be working on the delivery of high-quality software solutions whilst maintaining existing solutions. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven individualwith a strong technical background in Linux. They should possess experience in Python and C++, and Cloud system deployments. The candidate should also be confident in troubleshooting and supporting product issues directly on the customer production environment.The candidate should have relevant experience in automation, developing and managing all aspects of software, and problem-solving IT systems. They should have a passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and deploy software solutions using Python and C++
  • Streamline the testing, delivery, and support of software systems.
  • System design decisions
  • Implement automated build, test, and installation on customer Linux platforms with associated configuration management
  • Troubleshoot and support product issues directly on the customer production environment.
  • Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning.
The PersonRequirements:
  • A good level of commercial experience in software development.
  • Strong technical skills in Linux, Python, and C++.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network communications, routing protocols, and VPNs.
  • Experience in developing and deploying software solutions on customer environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Proactive attitude to identify opportunities to improve processes and increase automation.
  • Self-motivated to take ownership of issues and tasks.

They are market leaders with an exciting range of products that meet sector regulations and support large corporates and individual consumers. With a healthy orderbook they are strengthening the team with a new appointment who is bring brought in to raise standards and efficiencies in software development by implementing best practice and improvements to processes such as deployment and testing.Their offices are based just outside of Newcastle city centre and ideally you will be able to access the site once a week. This role will come with salary of up to £60,000
