Job Description

Berry Recruitment are again supporting our prestigious Client in the Gateshead Area, in their search for a shift based Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.This is a new permanent role, within a company who featured in the North East Top 200 Largest Companies in 2021, and are continuing to grow!The ideal Candidate will be a motivated individual with an in-depth knowledge of the role and the ability to motivate a team. Candidates must have the ability to manage their own time and workload, alongside maintaining communication with the operationsteam for scheduled engineering works.Candidates are required to be qualified to BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ Equivalent. Experience with Allan Bradley PLCs would be highly beneficial in this role. HNC in Mechanical Engineering is desired but not essential.We require Candidates with experience in planned and preventative mechanical maintenance on sites and experience in fault finding, problem solving and establishing root causes.Candidates must also be forthcoming in the following abilities;

  • Fault finding on a range of electrical circuits <415v
  • Ability to read/create/modify Electrical Drawings
  • Experience with Instrumentation - ABB commanders, Magflows, load cells
  • PLC appreciation - basic fault finding /mods/Processor replacement
  • Assist with the safe installation/implementation of machine improvements and projects
Candidates will be required to follow a weekly planned maintenance schedule and prioritise their own daily schedule, whilst responding quickly and effectively to machine breakdowns/faults on site. Candidates need to also have an appreciation of risk assessments,hazards and control measures.This role will be working 39 hours a week and will consist of 12 hour shifts, days and nights, rotating on a pre-determined yearly cycle.The Annual salary for this role is £43471.20, with 2% of the annual salary as a Guaranteed Annual Service Bonus.
