Job Description

Digitalent are proud to be recruiting for an OpenEdge Progress Developer to support our clients expansion plans and future system development. This is an excellent opportunity to join their professional Head Office team and build your future career witha recognised North East based PLC company.Over the last 10 years this company has created "best in the industry" Internet and Intranet solutions and systems with real time applications capturing data from a number of sources to deliver management information and significantly improve operationalefficiencies.Main duties of the role will be:
  • Developing systems on the companys platform from design, specification, Proof of Concept, Testing, sign off and documentation
  • Work at a fast pace as demands of the business change
  • Interacting with the management team and board directors
  • Working as part of a team on large projects or as an individual on small projects
  • Supporting existing applications
For this role we are looking for you to have:
  • You must be a driven and passionate individual who is committed to achieving results.
  • Have an in depth knowledge of the Progress 4GL development environment preferable Architect or Studio Developer
  • A sound foundation in OpenEdge V10 and be aware of V11
  • Ideally knowledge of using webspeed to deliver applications to end users and fathom replication
  • Be able to discuss development projects you have personally completed
  • Some experience in integrating with third party APIs including SOAP Services
  • Experience of HTML5, JSON, XML & javascript
  • Experience in agile development methods, release management and Jira
  • Knowledge of motor retail will be an advantage.
