Job Description

Employer description:Smart IT are one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Northeast, winner of Best North-East IT Support company and one of the top 50 MSPs in the UK.Overview:After another successful year of growth, were looking to expand our team and recruit two field-based Network Engineers.The field engineer role involves going to customers sites, so being able to drive will be a key requirement to the position.Responsibilities:

  • Onsite jobs include, installing and configuring PCs / Laptops
  • Installing switches
  • Installing routers
  • Office 365 migrations and diagnose issues
  • Server administration and assisting with installations
What we are looking for:Required skills and experience:
  • NetworkingLAN / WAN diagnosis
  • Office 365troubleshooting and management
  • PC Installation / profile configuration
  • Active Directory Administration
  • Remote server and desktop support via remote support methods
Advantage to have:
  • Firewalls, Routers, VPN experience
  • Server buildsWindows 2016 and 2022
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications
  • Citrix experience and qualifications
  • Vmware ESX server experience
  • Cisco experience and qualifications
  • VOIP hardware/software experience
Also, having 2 years Business IT Support experience would be highly beneficial.Entry requirements: The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:
  • An A-Level in ICT
  • OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT
  • OR an A-Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.Find out more here: https://Qualifications/UKQRS/Default.aspxSalary:£18,000 per annum.Future prospects: On completion of your Apprenticeship, the successful individual would secure a full-time position as a full time Network Engineer with Smart IT, gaining a competitive salary, industry recognised qualifications and great career prospects.Important Information:QAs apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
