Job Description

Driver/WarehousemanGateshead, NE11Full time (Mon - Fri, 40 Hours) Permanent£19,000 per annumOur client is the Norths leading independent Plumbing and Pipeline Merchants. They have been trading for over 150 years, stocking over 35,000 products from the industrys leading suppliers.Due to continued expansion, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Driver / Warehouse Operative to join their successful organisation within their Team Valley Branch. They are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and motivated person to join their team.A Full UK clean driving licence is essential.Previous merchant experience would be advantageous, although not essential.About the Driver Role:The main duties include:

  • Making deliveries to customers in a Ford Transit 3.5T van.
  • Loading the vehicle and route plan in an efficient manner.
  • Gaining warehouse experience to develop product knowledge.
  • Dealing with customer orders and queries.
  • Booking in stock and other warehouse duties.
  • Building relationships with customers.
  • Provide an efficient and professional service for customers.
The Successful Driver / Warehouseman Candidate will:
  • Be flexible and well organised.
  • Be confident and outgoing.
  • Have a good standard of written English and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work confidently using your own initiative and be able to prioritise and organise workloads with support and instruction.
  • Have a smart, and professional appearance.
  • Be able to work well in a team and get along with colleagues.
