Job Description

We are seeking to recruit an additional Customer Service Legal Advisor.Based in the Team Valley in Gateshead you will undertake a variety of work primarily in Consumer Law and Employment Law.You will gain a real insight into the day-to-day work undertaken within an entrepreneurial business and you will be expected to make a valued contribution to the work of our existing fee-earnersThe RoleWorking under the day-to-day supervision of the Managing Partner the role will include but not be limited to the following:Consumer Law

  • Dealing with disputes between car dealerships and consumers;
  • Drafting letters of advice to car dealerships in respect of their consumer obligations;
  • Advising car dealerships on their legal obligations;
  • Ensuring car dealerships comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015
  • Dealing with disputes between trading standards and car dealerships;
  • Liaising with the Financial Conduct Authority in relation to any breaches of the FCA rules by a car dealership
  • Attending meetings and calls and noting actions and following up
  • Employment Law
  • Advising businesses on employment law
  • Drafting employment contracts;
  • Advising clients on employment disputes;
  • Liaising with clients to negotiate settlements;
  • Drafting settlement agreements;
  • Preparing cases for employment tribunals;
  • For each practice area above you will be required to undertake necessary training to complete the work.Skills and Experience RequiredEssential
  • Experience of working in a fast paced professional environment preferred
  • Has attained an undergraduate degree, or is working towards one
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High levels of computer literacy and competence; computer programming skills a plus
  • Openness to learning new technology tools and systems
  • High level of attention to detail and problem solver
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments
  • Strong client focus and ability to demonstrate commitment to outstanding service delivery
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work either autonomously, co-operatively or with direction
  • Proven forward planning skills and the ability to manage own workload and prioritise workloads effectively
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in work processes; ability to identify areas in need of improvement and suggest new methods where appropriate
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Ability to work well within a team and to be adaptable to changing work environments and demands

  • Between £16,000 to £20,000
  • Working week
  • Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pmTotal hours per week: 37.5 hrs
