CY Partners are currently looking to recruit a hardworking and enthusiastic Chemist on behalf of a Gateshead based Manufacturing Organisation.This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody with a Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree looking to find a career in an industrial setting.There will be opportunities to grow within this department and the company are committed to investing in the development of their staff.Responsibilities·Ownership of COSHH Assessments for Production and trial raw materials·Ownership of relevant SOPs for laboratory test equipment and methods, including Risk Assessment, training for example, sag testing and training.·Plan and execute Production Line Trials relating to Technical Projects, coordinating with relevant stakeholders and reporting findings·Guides and/or initiates reformulation of our paints and board formulas in order to get the optimum relation between product performance, process control and costs·Prepare and update product formula and specifications, evaluates alternative and/or new raw material·Solve complex process related problems and issues.·Stimulates the uses of advance laboratory and scientific techniques to gather and analyse data·Works with Quality Manager and Production in Root Cause Analysis investigations related to tile fabrication/finishing·Supports ISO9001 Accreditation through auditing and compliance with procedures·Has capability to decide & implement changes to fabrication processes and paint formulations.·Takes ownership of Common Cause and Production Support Team corrective actions when requested·Makes recommendations to improve and control key production processesCurrent Techniques applied:·Thermogravimetric Analysis·GC·Fire Reaction Analysis·Lab Scale Paint Manufacture and Spray·Flocculation analysis·Particle Size Analysis (Sieve Analysis)·Lab Scale laminationRequirements·Minimum BSc/BEng Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering·Strong problem solving and communication skills·Basic understanding of HSE requirements, COSHH etc.·Literate with basic IT suites such as Excel, Word etc.·Self-motivated and personable with a positive attitude to workFor further information and an informal chat about the role contact Graham Hankinson at CY Partners or submit your CV for the opportunity.The recruiter has stated that all applicants for this job should be able to prove that they are legally entitled to work in the UK.
