Our offshore services client based in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear seeks an enthusiastic Applications Design Engineer to join the Wireline and flowline engineering team. You will be providing design engineering solutions supporting internal and external customers,generating technical proposals. You will complete designs, models, and technical content for the purpose of quoting against customer requirements and industry specifications, acting as the expert for engineering matters on specific projects.you will have a strong understanding of engineering design and manufacturing practices as they apply to the companys core products and technologies and the ability to create packages that generate additional business opportunities for the WLF group. This isa key position within the Engineering organisation and requires the ability to plan and execute on many levels, to provide cross-functional support and the right level of customer interface. You will contribute to a team of professionals comprised of Sustaining/Applicationsand Design Engineers who are engaged in value engineering activities and ongoing product improvements for all WLF product lines. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledgeand experience through a variety of exciting projects.*The ideal background demonstrates knowledge of specific design codes API 6A and ASME VIII. *To be suitable to apply you need to live a commutable distance from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Some home working can be considered. Specifically, Surface Test Trees, Gate Valves, Mud Valves, Plug Valves, Hammer Unions, Flowline equipment.Skills, training, or special knowledge*Knowledge of specific design codes, EC Directives and CE Marking, API 6A , ASME VIII Boiler and Pressure Vessels, ASME B31.3, NACE MR-0175, ATEX, Norsok, EN12079/DNV2.7-12.7.3 *Understand welding processes and procedures*Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and AutoDesk Suite, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MRP/ERP systems)* Understanding of ISO9001 *Working knowledge in hand calculations, knowledge of design codes. *Understand commonplace industry materials and their applicationRemuneration and benefits can be discussed on application.
