Job Description

An Independent Fostering Agency rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, arelooking for knowledgeable Supervising Social Workers to join their team.As a Supervising Social Worker, you will be looking after a manageable caseload of foster families. Working in partnership with other team members to provide a high-quality service for their foster families and the children/young people theylook after.You will be responsible for ensuring that children’s care and development needs are met within placements by undertaking necessary planning and intervention for both emergency and planned referrals.Please do not apply for this job if you require sponsorship. Responsibilities of you as the Supervising Social Worker:
  • Support Foster Carers to evidence their competence against training standards.
  • Recruit, assess and monitor the suitability of Foster Carers.
  • Contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews within required timescales.
  • Provide and record regular supervision in line with the operational standards.
  • Undertake support visits.
  • Assist in the delivery of training.
  • Ensure that the Foster Carers have an accurate and up to date Foster Care Agreement
  • Identify learning and development needs
  • Undertake initial visits and carer assessments
  • Attend meetings to support Foster Carers, children and young people.
Requirements of you as the Supervising Social Worker:
  • Dip SW/CQSW/Social Work Degree and current SWE registration
  • Experience of working within Fostering
  • Experience of partnership working with families and external agencies, preferably in a Safeguarding or Looked after Children’s Teams.
  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence
