You will need to have strong broad experiencein relevant development tools and technologies as well as deep expertise in either.Net or Security. You will be the recognised SME in your relevant area and will lead community events and share best practice and knowledge.Our engineers work with a wide range of technologies, software tools and systems across multiple business areas with languages includingC#, Java, Python, Angular and Javascript.We deploy our solutions to cloud-based architectures as well as to our own infrastructure and utilise technologies such asAzure, Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, SQL. Everything we do is team based.Quality is paramount. Collaboration is key and you and your team will be supported to do good work.   • Playing a part in an agile delivery team including designing, coding, unit testing, deploying, improving and supporting applications and services.
  • Owning and developing one or more technical capabilities across UHO, in this case either .Net or Security
The UK Hydrographic Office is a leading centre for hydrography, providing marine geospatial data to inform maritime decisions.   • Work in an agile development team, designing and crafting software solutions, including unit testing and pair programming.
  • Use automated testing and deployment to build and support a continuous delivery environment
  • Collaborate with others in the development community, identifying good practices we can adopt and sharing our experiences
  • Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developer and non-developers
  • Continually develop your own skills as part of a programme of continuous professional development

  • Own and develop one or more engineering technical capabilities across UKHO, including organising guilds, knowledge sharing, disseminating best practice.
