Rehabilitation Support Worker - Nr Biggin Hill, Surrey£13.00 - £15.00 per hourAn exciting opportunity is available for an experienced female* Rehabilitation Assistant/Buddy to work with our Client, a youthful and engaging lady who lives in a village location close to Biggin Hill in Surrey. This is the perfect role for someone who feelspassionate about supporting a Client’s rehabilitation and helping them live life to the full.Our ClientOur Client is a determined and inspirational lady who sustained an injury in a road accident 20 years ago. As a result of her injuries, our Client has some cognitive and mobility difficulties and suffers chronic pain, fatigue and has some memory issues. Despitethese challenges, our Client likes to live life to the full with a determination to continue her rehabilitation journey and enjoy her hobbies and interests which include crafting, writing short stories, going to the gym and aqua aerobics, trips to the theatreand the cinema (especially horror movies).She also loves to spend time at home with her two cats, as well as enjoying socialising both at home and out and about with friends and family.The RoleOur Client enjoys her busy life and the perfect person for this role will be someone who shares similar interests and is like minded in their zest for life.The purpose of the role is to work with our Client on a one-to-one basis, supporting her to continue her independent life and enjoy her hobbies and interests. You will be required to work as part of the established care team providing high quality support,liaising closely with the Client’s team of therapists, maintaining care records and documentation, facilitating her continued her progression towards achievable goals and targets.Available HoursThe team work across a four week rota, working 24 hour shifts from 09:00 one day through to 09:00 the next. These shifts include either a Sleeping Night shift or On-Call shift depending upon the Client’s needs at the time. Available shifts are as follows:Week 1: Saturday and SundayWeek 2: Saturday and SundayWeek 3: Monday and SaturdayWeek 4: MondayRates of PayDay Shifts (07:00 - 23:00):Monday to Friday: £13.00 per hourSaturday & Sunday: £15.00 per hourSleeping Shift (23:00 - 07:00)Monday to Sunday £11.00 per hourOn Call Shift (21:00 - 09:00)Monday to Sunday £45.00 per shiftPerson SpecificationIt is expected that the successful candidate will share our Client’s zest for life, be self-motivated and creative in ideas for activities to undertake and places to visit with our Client, particularly during the winter months as our Client is not a fan ofcold or wet weather and dreams of holidays in the sun.Candidates must also be reliable and trustworthy with a positive and upbeat attitude to life. A creative aptitude when thinking of activities to enjoy at home or out, as well as places to visit would be beneficial with good planning skills and a natural attentionto detail also being an advantage.A vital part of this role is that professional boundaries are maintained with the Client and her professionals with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to our Client and all those involved with her care. You shouldalso be able to respond appropriately to our Client’s needs and be calm under pressure, ensuring our Client’s physical and mental wellbeing at all times.Whilst experience of working within a rehabilitation type role previously or of working with a Client with brain injury would be desirable, it is not essential, as full training will be given.Our Client holds a full UK driving licence and has her own car, however candidates should hold a full clean UK driving licence and be happy to drive our Client when required if she chooses not to drive herself.If this is the sort of role you are interested in please send your CV and covering statement.*Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.
