Job Description

Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to recruit a Toolroom Technician. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this is an important role within the business. The role is full time and permanent and offers the successful candidate an exciting career with a growing business which catch offer career progression. Job ObjectiveTo ensure that all tools are maintained and improved where required. To support production to ensure that products are manufactured in an efficient way and in line with all appropriate quality and safety standards. To take part in continuous improvementactivities to support the business in being more successful.Key Accountabilities

  • To maintain tools and production equipment
  • To correctly identify tooling issues and to work with other team members to resolve these when it looks as though a more serious problem might be developing
  • To take part in improvement activities
  • To behave in a manner that is safe and that promotes good manufacturing practice
Essential Requirements
  • To understand all health and safety rules
  • To understand all quality rules
  • To be able to maintain tooling and production equipment
  • Experienced in setting and operating lathes, milling machines, surface grinders and other workshop equipment
  • To understand TPM and improvement processes
  • To liaise with visitors as necessary
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience in maintaining press tools and rolling and forming tools
  • Attendance at Health and Safety committee meetings or other representation roles
Working HoursStandard hours are 7.30am - 4.30pm Mon - Thurs / 7.30am - 1pm Friday (39hrs basic)Flexible to work overtime when required, willing to stay and resolve a problem / breakdown in production when required.PackageSalary £27,112 (£13.33ph plus overtime)25 Days holiday plus statsPensionOpportunity to work within a great business, in a friendly team.If you have the skills and experience we are looking for, please apply with a copy of your CV and well be in touch to discuss the role in more detail
