Job Description

Due to continued business growth, our client, a recognized player in the freight forwarding and transportation industry who specialize in offering supply chain and logistics solutions via air, sea and road as well as warehouse & distribution services, arelooking to recruit a Warehouse Operator to be based at a warehousing facility in Tamworth, Staffordshire.On Offer:

Main Purpose of the Role:Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Operator will focus on receiving and dispatching all goods within the Warehouse Department safely and accurately.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in the execution of their duties in support of the Head of Operations and Land Norths vision of the company to become more competitive and profitable.
  • Understand and execute the departments vision of good business development in order to successfully account for, store and deliver clients good to the end user.
  • Complete all warehouse activities correctly and on time including checking for damaged goods, loading and unloading operations including the use of forklift trucks.
  • Ensure all other operational activities are completed on time and in conjunction with Standards of Practice (SOPs).
  • Maintain and utilise the operational system at all times ensuring all client products are accounted for maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy of records and dispatch of goods.
  • Maintain good customer and inter-departmental relationships at all times.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately at all times.
  • Proactively reduce cargo handling errors by careful handling of goods.
  • Implement and improve new efficiencies in workflow in conjunction with line manager and warehouse handling performance improvements.
Health and Safety Responsibility:
  • Report all accidents and near misses to the Warehouse Manager and Health and SafetyManager without delay.
  • Read and follow any risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Follow the company Health and Safety and Environmental Policy.
  • Isolate and report all faulty equipment to the line manager without delay.
  • Carry out daily pre-use checks on vehicles and complete pre-use check sheet paperwork for forklift trucks ensuring lights, horn, battery water levels and seatbeltsare operating correctly recording and reporting any defects to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
To Be Considered:
  • Proven warehouse operations experience
  • Driving License and access to a car- the site is not on regular public transport routes.
  • Forklift License (essential).
  • Ability to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
