Job Description

Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established organisation based in Tamworth as a Warehouse Operative on a temporary basis. We are looking for candidates for both the AM and Day shift (6am-2pm or 10am-6pm). This role is to start immediately and is for a 6 month periodSummary Participating in all loading and unloading activitiesDuties & Responsibilities

  • Conducting start of shift safety checks on manual handling equipment including:
o Forklift truckso Pedestrian pallet moverso Internal delivery/collection vehicles
  • Labelling containers and pallets
  • Preparing pallets, single packages, and pallet boxes
  • Monitoring, controlling, and recording information on paper and electronic systems and handheld devices
  • Wrapping, covering, strapping, and banding pallets in accordance with specifications manually or using wrapping and banding equipment
Skills and experience
  • Be able to handle safely (pack, stack, palletise etc) containers weighing up to 22kg
  • Hold a FLT counter balance licence
  • Preferably hold a pallet mover licence ( not essential )
  • Flexible to work overtime
  • Must have good basic mathematics
  • Must have good English comprehension to be able to interpret and follow processes and safety instructions precisely
  • Competent and confident in using manual handling equipment
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines to meet customer expectations and
  • transport deadlines
  • Committed to the health, safety and well-being of yourself, co-workers and the environment
Package and benefits
  • Full training given
  • 6am - 2pm, 37.5 hours per week, 1 hour lunch (half paid/half unpaid) - £12.96p/h
  • 10am - 6pm, 37.5 hours per week, 1 hour lunch (half paid/half unpaid) - £12.12p/h
  • Holiday accrued
