Operating lathes, milling machines, and grinders as well as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators,you will ensure all parts meet exacting specifications.Additionally, you will undertake die repairs and attend breakdowns, identifying faults and problem solving whilst guaranteeing minimal downtime, and ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.As part of your role, it is expected that a reasonable amount of overtime will be necessary to meet business needs.About YouTo be considered as a Toolmaker, you will need:- Experience in producing, refurbishing and troubleshooting progression press tools- Excellent attention to detail- The ability to work to a high-quality standard and adhere to all quality standard regulations- The ability to work as part of a team and communicate confidently with colleagues- The ability to interface with internal customers to discuss requirements and resolve issues- A proactive, can do attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative- An appropriate craft or technical qualificationOther organisations may call this role Tool Technician, Toolroom Technician, Castings Toolmaker, Mould Toolmaker, Skilled Toolmaker, or Toolroom Engineer.Webrecruit and Simpson Strong-Tie are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
