Job Description

Mill Operator (Cold Roll Steel)Salary Up to £ 14.00 / hour (Negotiable DOE)Location area: Leeds / YorkFull-TimePermanent ContractThis is a great opportunity for you to work with our client that is NOW HIRING a Mill Operator (Cold Roll Steel).You will be working in the new year and become responsible for the setting up of a machine and the day-to-day operation of the machine.Our client was founded over 35 years ago and they are a group of industries that comprises Building Products, Refurbishment Projects, Building Services and Systems to make up one of the most technically advanced, building specialists in the UK.Your Responsibilities

  • Understanding machine capabilities whilst controlling and adjusting settings.
  • Set up and maintain machine via calibration and cleaning regimes.
  • Perform testing procedures to ensure machine is working optimally.
  • Understanding machine and manufacturing tolerances.
  • Inspect and measure parts with precision and measuring tools.
  • Create and maintain activity logs.
  • Ensure all necessary safety checks are completed on the machine and all guarding is in place.
  • Clean and maintain machine parts after every work procedure.
  • Health & Safety awareness - report and record.
  • Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
  • First Aid (Training provided)
Operate Forklift Truck (Training provided) - To include Facilitate the movement of pallets around production facility, facilitate the movement of finished goods, waste containers management and stock rotation.Operate Overhead Crane (Training provided) - To include Facilitate the onloading of coils, Facilitate the loading of coils to the roll forming line and Stock rotation.Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to read drawings and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read production paperwork and multitask.
  • Ability to evaluate all materials to ensure compliance to manufacture.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Troubleshoot problems during machine operation.
  • Perform regular checks during cycle to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervision.
Contractual Benefits
  • 25 days Holidays + Bank Holidays
  • Monday to Thursday: From 7am to 3pm
  • Friday: From 7am to 1pm
  • Total of 38 hours / Week
  • Monday to Friday - Day Shifts
  • Weekly Pay
  • 2 x bonusses both discretional and based on profitability.
