Job PurposeProvide high quality, effective and efficient Health and Safety semi-professional support and advice services to managers, headteachers and employees of Norfolk County Council, partnership agencies and external customers in order to influence and improve their management of health and safety.Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with customers, identifying opportunities to add value to the services provided.Principal AccountabilitiesMonitor and review health and safety practice and compliance against NCC standards through inspections, service reviews and revisits to secure improved compliance and management in those premises/teams that you work with. Visits appropriate to the knowledge and grade will be allocated by the Health and Safety Manager on a quarterly basis. The Health and Safety Officer will be expected to manage and prioritise their workload appropriately and, where necessary, escalate issues or concerns utilising the established process.Provide advice to internal and external customers utilising established resources and procedures to resolve or prioritise the contact for escalation to a team member as appropriate (where resolution isn’t possible).
