Job Description

Our client is looking for an additional Senior Estimator to work within the Business Management sub-function providing and delivering estimating capability in support of manufacturing and engineering projects.Do you enjoy analysing, estimating technical enquiries through to quotation Do you have a manufacturing or engineering background Then we would like to hear from you.Our client offers a full suite of in-house services including process and engineering design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning for Exchange Heaters, Boilers, Pressure Vessels and Superheaters, to the energy industry. Working across oil and gas,process, power and pharmaceutical industries, our client delivers often complex and challenging construction projects with precision and accuracy.They are a manufacturing and engineering company with a passion for excellence, innovation, and environmental sustainability. Throughout every project, they use their construction and engineering experience and their knowledge of the clients business toadd value. They are a carbon negative company with a dedication to clean energy, they offer a range of products, including services for the hydrogen sector.About YouTo be considered you will have at least 5 years experience working in a similar role for a company that manufactures machined or welded components. However, if you have suitable potential, we will look to train you as an Estimator with at least 12 monthsdevelopment.Strong communication skillsboth written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently. You will be selfmotivated, flexible, and reliable with good problem-solving skills. An ability to reduce costs andsecure sales orders without affecting quality products and services.You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. Excellent computer skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.You must be eligible to live and work in the UK at the time you start employment.Responsibilities:

  • Registrations:Register all qualified projects to company CRM system.
  • Specification:Provide suitable specifications dependent upon the type of project and area. Considering any specific approvals or certifications that may be required e.g., knowledge of ASME or EN 12952 design would be beneficial
  • Estimating:Produce estimates generated by the projects team and customers direct. Maintaining and protecting aspirational margins.
  • Quotations:Ensure all quotations are uploaded onto CRM and are maintained. Management of expired pricing. Preparing presentable quotations to maximise the opportunity potential.
  • Value engineering:Alternative Specifications and spec busting revisions.
  • To ensure the Estimating daily tasks and inbox are kept up to date.
  • Develop key relationships with contract client base with visits to sites when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Qualified to minimum of HNC level in engineering, although proven experience in a similar role and industry would be sufficient.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software
  • Strong technical skills
  • Highly skilled in computer skills, ideally experience with SAGE 1000 Salesforce & Excel.
