Infrastructure Engineer - Swansea£30-35k + pension + up to 12% bonus per annum.Permanent - Windows Server, O365, VMWare, Active Directory, Exchange, Citrix, Veeam Back-up, SAN skills the ideal mix.We are urgently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for our Swansea based financial services client.They are mainly on premises, but they do have some cloud-based services. The infrastructure team has a very varied workstack ahead of them.The role has been pitched as a Windows and Wintel Engineer role. They need someone with good virtualisation and VMware experience for this mid range role (you dont need vast quantities of this type of experience).There are people on the team who are very technical and can support this position but they aren’t able to take someone who has been working in a support function with some accountabilities, for this they need someone who can hit the ground running.You will provide support and technical expertise to assist with the departmental objective of delivering and developing a stable and secure operational infrastructure service that meets the business requirement. You will support the business in BAU, Project Delivery and R&D capacities following industry best practices, while collaborating with team members and other departments and 3rd parties where required.They need someone who can keep abreast of emerging technologies and assist with the Infrastructure strategy while maintaining and developing relationships with Internal stakeholders, vendors and suppliers to achieve the departmental objective while contributing to the wider IT Strategy.Full Technical Knowledge:• Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems, Including IIS, DNS, DHCP and other key Microsoft server technologies.• Strong knowledge of Active Directory (ideally including Trust and Migration experience) with expert Group Policy exposure.• Experience in administering cloud services preferably O365 or Azure (Azure is a small part of the role)• Mail server administration – Exchange/Exchange Online.• Enterprise HP Servers• Exposure and experience managing enterprise backup and DR solutions and hardware. Preferably VEEAM and Redgate SQL backup.• VMWare vSphere/ESXi farm architecture and management.PREFERABLE• Exposure to SQL database environments.• Exposure to Fibre Channel or iSCSI SAN and fabrics – preferably HP e.g. 3PAR/Primera• VMWare vSphere/ESXi farm architecture and management.• Experience with end to end troubleshooting (OSI model).• Experience supporting enterprise networking technologies Cisco Switches, Cisco ASA Firewall and Clearswift Web proxies.• Knowledge of VOIP technologies, Preferably Avaya.• Enterprise AV administration preferably Sophos.• CentOS and Redhat Linux basic administration, command line and security knowledge.• Exposure and experience managing enterprise backup and DR solutions and hardware. Preferably VEEAM and Redgate SQL backup.• Citrix XenApp farm with XenDesktop and externally presented Netscaler services.• Experience of managing large scale replicated file and print services with DFS replication• Experience of infrastructure and application performance monitoring, exposure to AppDynamics a bonus• Experience with enterprise load balancers and advantagePlease apply now for a lot more information if this sounds like you!
