The Marketing Intelligence team is a high performing team that works to provide evidenced-based recommendations for our marketing activity in global Higher Education (HE) markets. The team use their knowledge and experience of quantitative and qualitative research methods to identify, gather, collate, analyse, and report on internal and external information. The reports produced inform strategic and operational decisions across the University on student recruitment, product portfolio, research, and commercial activity.This role is based at Singleton Park Campus in Swansea. As a result of the pandemic the role-holder will currently work remotely. In the longer term the role will allow for flexibility, with a mixture of on-campus and remote working to be negotiated.1. Coordinate and undertake the setting up and maintaining of automated data processes to feed data analysis systems.2. Identify, evaluate, and implement external services and tools to support data validation and cleansing.3. Coordinate the manipulation and analysis of data, using suitable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, R, SPSS, SAS, or an equivalent software), in its various forms to identify market position and trends.4. Coordinate the development and maintenance of a suite of Power BI dashboards for the Directorate.5. Coordinate and undertake the sourcing and liaison with data providers on data analysis and insight projects (including work with Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)) to inform student recruitment activity, portfolio, business engagement, and campaign activity.6. Undertake research and produce reports to inform areas of product development and marketing, for example portfolio development, CPD (Continuing Professional Development), outreach activity, pricing, perceptions, competitive benchmarking etc.7. Coordinate and undertake desk-based competitor, market, and industry assessments to ensure that decisions made are informed by the wider market context.8. Work with the Market Insight Manager to develop a range of quantitative approaches to gather evidence to inform strategic and operational decision-making to underpin University goals.9. To work closely with colleagues within the Directorate and with colleagues in other University Colleges and Departments to ensure they have the evidence they require to produce positive outcomes.10. To fully engage with the University’s Performance Enabling and Welsh language policies. 11. To promote equality and diversity in working practices and to maintain positive working relationships. 12. To lead on the continual improvement of health and safety performance through a good understanding of the risk profile and the development of a positive health and safety culture. 13. Any other duties as directed by the Head of Department or their nominated representative expected within the grade definition. 14.
