Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer£40,000SwanseaYolk Engineering is exclusively managing a new opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join this long standing, highly respected and rapidly growing manufacturing business where Quality is the highest priority. The role that will enjoy supported autonomy,the ability to make a significant impact developing a structured framework for the development of suppliers and improvement in Quality, and ongoing career development opportunities within the local site and international Group. Youll take the lead in creating structure and harmonisation within the supplier base, creating and implementing a supplier management programme which defines expectations from suppliers and monitor performance on an ongoing basis. Youll build relationshipswith suppliers and play an active role in creating a development strategy which will influence the future of innovation and market development strategy. This is what youll be doing

  • Lead supplier auditing activity
  • Act as a key stakeholder in the acceptance of new suppliers
  • Communication regularly with key suppliers to review current performance, trends and progress
  • Manage the flow of Quality documentation (from suppliers
  • Ensure proactive top-level management of supplier corrective action reports
  • Internal reporting on supplier performance (KPIs, issues and risk)
  • Identification of Key supply chain issues and effective management of resolutions
  • Create a supplier development programme alongside key stakeholders in Quality, Manufacturing, R&D and Operations
  • Lead implementation of supplier development programme across all strategic suppliers with a view to harmonize quality and manufacturing best practice principles
  • Manage audit programme to assess and track supplier progress
  • Instigate KPI metrics to ensure ongoing monitoring of performance
  • Support the introduction of improved quality data systems
  • Monitor and lead internal reviews of monthly supplier quality data sets
  • Identification of issues, changes in trends and opportunities for improvement
The experience youll bring to the team
  • EssentialLead Auditor / proven ability to audit suppliers.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills
  • A mechanical engineering background or relevant technical experience is advantageous
  • Ability to lead and influence internal and external stakeholders
