Job Description

Are you an experienced Mechanical FMCG engineer looking to move into a field based role Working with a global packaging business head office is based in Mansfield, you will be customer facing, 90% of your work will be preplanned work with some reactive maintenance. You must be a self driven, technically minded engineer who is focused on providing excellent service to customers.Field Service Engineer

  • Travel throughout the UK, based in Nottingham
  • Company Car or Car allowance
  • Basic salary £40,000
  • Paid over time
  • Total package c£55,000
  • 7% matching pension, 25 days holiday + Bank holidays.
  • Field Service Role:
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery
  • Change overs on seaming machines.
  • Preventative maintenance and sourcing of parts
  • To target set the seaming machines to achieve pre-determined double seam specifications.
  • Offering customer advise solutions can filling plant machinery and conveyors.
  • To maintain a technical overview of the condition of seaming machines and sub assembly units in order to advise the customer of pending maintenance requirements. To submit spare parts lists to customers, in order to ensure that sufficient spares are available for regular maintenance and repair.
  • Inspection of the double seam and external condition of the cans and ends to ensure that quality is achieved.
  • Manufacture and repair on a lathes or milling machine, in order to effect repairs when a machine breaks
  • To support or conduct trials and projects involving all aspects of technical advances in can and end supply including processing and internal pressure testing elements.
  • To generate a monthly report of all engineering, trials or quality issues activities carried out.
  • Experience & Skills required:
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship (minimum of a level 3)
  • Experience within an FMCG environment
  • Technically minded
  • Self driven and proactive
