Description: A market leading manufacturer and supplier of Transmission and Brake Plates is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing team. This newly created position will support the maintenance team to maximise production capacity and minimise downtime by carrying out both reactive and preventative maintenance, across a range of manufacturing plant, machinery and installations.The successful candidate will have strong background knowledge of maintaining and repairing a wide range of manufacturing machinery. Key personnel were drawn together from various backgrounds that collectively had many years experience in this field.Today all genuine parts are supplied and manufactured in their own facilities based in Nottinghamshire, England, or from their tooling at key manufacturers around the world. The range is extensive and covers many sectors including Agriculture, Earthmoving, Forklift, Mining and Marine.Culturally the business is respected for maintaining its core values and strong brand quality and is well known for investing in people, boasting extremely low staff attrition levels as a result. Key Responsibilities:- Investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns, action any necessary repairs and ensure all measures are taken and recorded.- Work with the maintenance engineering team to analyse downtime and implement preventive maintenance and continuous improvement solutions.- Test machinery, plant and installations, guards and safety devices.- Refurbish machinery, plant and installations- Co-ordinate and supervise sub-contractors for maintenance work as required.- Maintain site security and perform start-up and shut-down of manufacturing facility, unlocking/locking fire doors, start-up of compressors and generators etc. - Continuous improvement projects, including further development and implementation of 6S activities.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:- Maintenance Engineer with time served accredited apprenticeship/equivalent experience and certification in mechanical or electrical engineering. - Maintenance fitting, hydraulics, turning, milling and tooling.- Excellent communicator with the ability to work as part of a team, prioritise and work under pressure. - Strong Health & Safety knowledge.- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Application e.g. MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
