Hardware Design Engineer (Electronics) - A permanent role based in the East Midlands / North Notts / Mansfield area / Junction 28 M1 - circa £45-50,000 / negotiable + strong benefits package, dynamic working environment - career opportunity with globalemployer Sector: Electronics manufacturing for Rail Transport solutions PurposeTo provide timely Hardware engineering design for a range of electronics systems on a daily basis to meet agreed/planned deadlines inline with commitments to customer base. Ensure high standards of Hardware engineering for Health & Safety, right first time,efficiency, cost, innovation and service level are consistently achieved. Support delivery of improved product margins. Provide fast resolution to any Hardware engineering issues identified and support good levels of communication throughout business. Raiseoverall standards in Hardware engineering performance using best practice Hardware design methods and continuous improvement (CI) tools.Key accountabilities* Responsibility for Hardware engineering design for a range of electronics systems on-time, safely and to the correct specification and quality standards. * Deliver cost efficient Hardware engineering designs in-line with budget levels.* To ensure best practice Hardware engineering standards are adopted & continuously improved, with careful consideration to obsolescence management.* To ensure full compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations.* To ensure full compliance with Electronics quality standards.* Ensure KPI targets for RFT, efficiency, cost and service are consistently achieved. * To adhere to all deadlines and targets set by Engineering Manager.* Establish good working relationships and communication throughout the business.* Reporting of Health and Safety / HR issues to the Engineering Manager on a timely basis.Performance StandardsExcellent standards of Electronics hardware design, technical ability, communication, personal discipline, Health & Safety, time management, problem solving and continuous improvement. A high level of customer focus is critical.Zero LTAs, RFT >95% & on-time delivery >95%. 100% compliance with design regs. Knowledge/experience/skills* A good understanding of Electronics hardware design disciplines, together with Health and Safety and quality standards is required.* +5 years Electronics hardware design experience within a relevant electronics business, using best practice design methods, value engineering and CI techniques.* Education in Electronics Engineering to Degree level.* The individual must be a "driven", well disciplined, logical thinking, self motivated, team player, able to communicate at all levels and above all be highly "innovative" in delivering high standards in Electronics hardware design.
