We are looking for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Cellular Pathology team at this busy NHS Foundation Trust. This post requires occasional travel to Newark Hospital, where we have a satellite laboratory. The laboratory currently opens weekdays only, but candidates must have the flexibility to work 5 out of 7 days per week if required.Sound scientific and technical knowledge are vital as the post-holder will be expected to rotate through sections of routine Histopathology, special staining techniques, Non-gynae Cytology, Andrology and Immunohistochemistry. Also essential are good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with high levels of concentration and attention to detail.You will be based within the UKAS 15189:2012 accredited Pathology Department at King’s Mill Hospital; the department is currently in the process of developing a collaborative working relationship with neighbouring Trusts.
