Job Description

Our Care Home service, known as Community Houses, has rapidly expanded with 4 sites across Keighley that offer a step-down service to adults with complex mental health needs.We are a unique service which offers enhanced care to our Service Users to continue with their rehabilitation journey. As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for organising social and recreation activities for all service users within thisservice.Each service is a large residential house with an office and is where you will develop a rapport with our service users to encourage participation in activities within their interests for example swimming, shopping, attending the gym or visiting a gardencentre and holding cooking sessions. Our service users have various needs around their mental health. We are a service that focuses on slow stream rehabilitation, and many have transferred to us from secure services. You will help provide strong and personalisedactivities and you will help them to expand their life skills and prepare for their future. Naturally this role offers a good sense of job satisfaction, and this is your opportunity to have a positive impact at Community Houses.Your responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate social and recreational activities for service users within the setting and provide transport via the minibus for those who are unable to freely access public services.
  • To meet with the service users regularly and plan activities around their social and recreational interests.
  • To observe general behaviour, ability, and response of service users and report back regularly using verbal and written communications to appropriate team members. This is usually done via a quarterly newsletter and monthly updates in the staff meeting.
  • Update their notes using the clinical IT system carenotes.
  • To fulfil the security requirements of the service and adhere to service policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Basic risk assessment on a day to day basis to individuals and groups of service users.
  • To ensure that health and safety, welfare and security standards for service users, staff and their visitors are adhered to.
  • As the main driver of the minibus you will be responsible for reporting any repair need, logging usage and basic maintenance such as monitoring adblue levels.
  • Effective skills of co-ordination and use of resources.
To be successful in this role, youll need:
  • Minimum of 12 months experience within a care setting (Desirable)
  • Prepared to drive transport provided.
  • Hold a full driving license
