I am currentlyworking on behalf of a charitable organisation who are looking for a Deputy Accounts Manager for their finance team. The role is available on a temporary basis initially with a view to going permanent for the right person. This will be to start immediately so you will need to be available WC 2nd of Nov. The role reports to the Head of Finance and you will deputise for him when he is away and then be responsible for the line management of the team of 7 in the team.The team handles£10 million annual income. This role iscrucial for income, payments, accounting and coordinating with the Accounts Department team.You will be responsible for:Income• ‘Balance’ daily income between, SAGE 200, TRE and the bank for Charity and Trading.• Prepare day sheets for cheque and credit card income.• Analyse bank statements, for all types of direct credit income.• Balance legacy income and accrued legacies with the Legacy Officer monthly.• Balance standing order income with Gift Aid & Direct Credits Coordinator weekly.• Balance other direct credit income with Gift Aid & Direct Credits Coordinator including: Just Giving, CAF, Charitable Giving, Charities Trust, GAYE, love2donate, Standing Orders, Direct Debits, Appeal income, Individual benefactors, Charitable Trusts and Foundations.Payments• Prepare for paying, balance and post in SAGE Charity invoices (twice monthly).• Prepare for paying, balance and post in SAGE Charity expenses (monthly).• Manage petty cash, euro cash and dollar cash.Accounting• Prepare’ balance and post: Credit and debit cashbooks, Intercompany balances, One Card, Income day sheets, Invoices and expenses.• Reconcile in SAGE 200 the bank accounts: current, deposit, euro, petty cash, euro and dollar cash• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are balanced including: All bank accounts Accrued Legacies Petty cash in £, $ and € Intercompany balance Salary, Pension and PAYE control accounts Sales ledger Purchase ledger VAT• Post other journals, such as aid payment and salary.• Maintain files; Provide schedules as requested for annual accounts and audit.Due to the quick turnaround for this role you will need to have experience/ Knowledge:• SAGE 200 accounts package.• AAT level 3 or equivalent.• literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel as well as the internet.• Knowledge of bespoke database The Raiser’s Edge desirable.PersonalCompetencies• Rigorous attention to detail• A self-starter, able to work both independently and as part of a team.• Sensitivity and empathy with the ethos of the work of this Catholic charity.In return your terms and conditions will be (if permanent) :• Full-time: 37.5 hour week, 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.• 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays rising to 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays after five full years of employment.• Time in lieu policy plus mileage and out of pocket expenses for working at an events.• Auto-enrolment onto pension scheme after three months’ probation with 5% matched contributions.If you are available immediately and feel you have the right attributes please apply for immediate consideration.
