Job Description

We are looking for a Fire & Security Engineer to join a team within a well-established contractor completing installs, service and remedials on a social housing properties in the Birmingham region. The successful candidate will be awarded a companyvan, fuel card and benefits.The Fire & Security Engineer role is:

  • Birmingham based
  • Social Housing properties
  • £36,000 - £38,000
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hour week, early finish on Fridays
The successful Fire & Security Engineer will be expected to:
  • Carrying out the servicing, remedial works and installation of fire alarms, extinguishers and security systems, including warden call
  • Maintaining systems including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire shutters and curtains to ensure safe and compliant properties
  • Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed

  • £36,341 per annum (rising to £38,253 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
We are keen to speak to any Fire & Security Engineers who hold the following:
  • City & Guilds qualification or NVQ 3 in relevant trade
  • Experience with fire alarm or fire detection systems, safe isolation, small works certificate
  • Experience working in a fire and security environment
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Knowledge of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
