Job Description

£63,800 up to £93,500*per annum - This isnt an ordinary job. This is an extraordinary experience.Based in our brand new, state-of-the-art head office in Tolworth, our IT Business Consulting department is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and driven Solutions Development Team Manager to join the team and build a career in a stimulating andinternational environment.Our Solutions Development team provides IT solutions to the wider business and are striving for increased velocity and agility in solutions delivery. You will be instrumental in establishing and leading a team of developers and external resources skilledin different platforms and languages to contribute to a diverse number of solutions development projects on both a national and international scale. In the role, you will have an active involvement in the ongoing modernisation of bespoke applications and theopportunity to lead the development of the latest retail technology solutions for the largest retailer in Europe.We have a hybrid working model for Head Office roles, with only 3 days in the office per week ensuring you have a flexible work life balance.What youll do

  • Be responsible for putting together a team of developers tasked with creating solutions
  • Manage the development pipeline for both internally and externally developed solutions
  • Ensure excellent working relationships with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with business consultants on potential new solutions and changes to existing solutions
  • Apply, integrate and comply with international development standards
  • Ensure the stability and quality of provided solutions
  • Provide solutions to the business in a cost efficient way whilst maintaining security, functionality and time-to-market
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the technical infrastructure as well as components / platforms in use
  • Ensure solution investments and costs are accurately planned for in accordance with the annual planning process
  • Conduct job interviews and the recruitment process for new employees
  • Manage the annual performance appraisal and continuously tracks the progress and targets relating to individual personal development plans
What youll need
  • Demonstrable knowledge of C# .NET, Java, native web and low-code platforms such as OutSystems or Mendix
  • Knowledge of architectural elements, in particular API and microservices
  • Knowledge of MS Azure architecture
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar pipeline management tools
  • Experience of managing multiple development streams with both internal and external partners
  • Good quality control, application security and governance practices
  • The ability to identify and develop talent
  • The ability to liaise and communicate at both a technical and non-technical level
  • A strong team mentality and good collaboration ethos
  • The ability to manage a wide array of topics
  • Experience of cost and internal/ external resource management
  • Working knowledge of retail/ supply chain solutions desirable
  • German language desirable
  • Knowledge of Oracle/ Postgres database environments desirable
  • Occasional travel to European countries required
