Job Description

Working at the heart of Lidls Import team, youll find our busy and dynamic specialist team, continuously improving processes and finding ways to better service Lidls millions of customers. We thrive on creating the best solutions to complex and ever-changingchallenges and were looking for a Consultant Import to join us! The role will be based at our Head Office in Wimbledon until Jan 2022, when we will move to our brand new, state-of-the-art building in Tolworth.Our Import Consultants are immensely important to driver our processes and leading the way. It is a vastly important role to support our Head of Departments and Import team with heavy lifting changes processes for our vast supply chain. The Consultants willown a project, end to end and be responsible for staying up to date on regulatory change and be able to map out the impact on our existing processes. You will be able to see what we need to improve and drive projects that will have a big impact for our processes.We value leaders with heart, that will show the way through leading by example; being a fair and respectful role models.You will be part of the team that enables Lidls flow of goods run seamlessly. Your input as a team player and import professional, will have a direct impact on our operations, stores and millions of customers.In Import, no two days are the same! As a Lidl Import Consultant, you will constantly be bringing solutions to new and interesting challenges. As a spider in the web, you will be working closely with internal as well as external teams with a global reach.Youll need brilliant communication skills and youll be in direct contact with our senior business leaders, as well as brokers and freight forwarders. This will be a fast paced, dynamic position where youll need to take a pragmatic approach to solvingproblems to ensure our imported products get on to the shelves in Lidl stores on time.If you thrive in dynamic, exciting, global environments, have a good understanding of import processes and want to join a great team which values growth and development, this could be the role for you!We have a hybrid working model for Head Office roles, ensuring you have a flexible work life balance.What youll do

  • Work independently to create an in-depth understanding of import processes to identify where cost time and efficiency improvements
  • Keeping up to date on regulatory change and understand how the changes will impact for Lidl
  • Work cross-functionally to support projects between the Customs and Import teams as well as within the larger Lidl functions
  • Planning and managing multiple complex projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Producing end to end documentation for all processes reflecting operational practices
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders including customs brokers, freight forwarders and suppliers
  • Understanding the objectives of our operational and project work, their impact on the business and driving solutions to business-critical issues
  • Supporting senior leadership with reporting and statistics
  • Building the necessary controls and processes around our Import systems data flows
  • Solving problems to key issues proactively and escalating in a timely manner to leadership
  • Training and coaching colleagues in systems and processes
What youll need
  • Experience within customs, import or logistics is beneficial
  • Strong project management skills to be able to work collaboratively with a range of business departments to complete a project successfully
  • Passion for driving long lasting change and an urge to continuously improve existing processes
  • Extensive experience with MS Office Application Suite with good skills in Excel
  • Robust analytical and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues across all levels of the business
  • Detail orientated and able to manage tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Understanding of different organisations supply chain and the flow of master data
  • Excellent IT skills preferably with experience of SAP or other ERP/Transport Management Systems
  • An understanding of the variety of documentation needed to import food and non-food items is beneficial
