Job Description

Location: Head Office - Sully (Hybrid Working)Contract length: Up to 6 monthsWeekly hours: 37.5We seek an experienced finance professional to join our team as our Interim Financial Controller.About the roleThe Interim Financial Controller is accountable for providing financial leadership and oversight of all financial operations of the Charity. The post holder will act as professional advisor to the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and the Chairman, withlegislative and regulatory responsibility to discharge financial duties. The role is also responsible for leading the finance team to ensure the charity operates in an effective way and by developing the financial resources to deliver its strategic plans.This is interim role whilst the substantive Director of Finance (Deputy CEO) is covering the role of CEO on an interim basis during the recruitment and induction of a substantive CEO.Ty Hafan currently supports a hybrid working model, and the post holder is required to be on site a minimum of 2 days per week being flexible to work onsite between Monday-Friday.About youWe are looking for someone who has a minimum of 5 years of relevant financial leadership / management experience gained in a commercial, charitable, or public sector environment, and has successfully completed interim financial roles at a senior managementlevel.As the ideal candidate you will be a qualified accountant with experience in an accountancy role supporting a senior leader and/or a large team, with competing demands. You will have the ability to produce accurate forecasts, manage cash flow across a numberof trading accounts together with an understanding of the protection and management of company assets. You will also be able to analyse financial information in order to make decisions, set priorities and achieve goals. Having excellent communication skillsboth written and verbal, the ability to develop effective working relationships quickly and being flexible and solution focus are also key.About Ty HafanTy Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers palliative care and dedicated support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions across Wales, and their families, at our hospice in Sully, in communitysettings, and in the family home.
