Developing and optimising stored procedures and functions using T-SQL

Providing guidance to wider IT teams in relation to database maintenance and monitoring

Defining technical solutions in tandem with Senior IT Stakeholders

Ensuring data integrity in company systems

Analysis and resolution of database performance issues

Providing regular reports on database performance and security to the management team

Consistently looking for opportunities to automate manual processes

Delivering and managing changes to production databases

Defining database backup and recovery policies

Providing input into database strategy, ensuring that implemented systems are in line with overall company strategy

Sourcing and managing 3rd party suppliers where appropriate

Ideal Technical Skills:

Experience of maintaining and monitoring production SQL Server instances (2008/2012/2014/2016)

Understanding of database design and development

Knowledge of T-SQL for database maintenance and data manipulation/queries

Knowledge of database performance troubleshooting and optimisation strategies

Knowledge of Disaster Recovery options and experience with their implementations

Experience in interfacing/integrating cross-database and cross-server systems.

Experience of SSRS and SSIS
