Job Description

Attwood Perks is proud to be partnering with an incredibly successful and genuinely unique business based in Stowmarket who are looking for an experienced SQL DBA to join their dedicated technology team on a permanent basis.As SQL DBA in this highly collaborative environment you will have an inquisitive mind, be an effective communicator and will consistently strive for high quality database solutions exhibiting a strong sense of ownership.This business are fully committed to training and development where every member of staff has their own training budget meaning you will constantly moving forwards and enhancing your skills and career.Responsibilities:

  • Developing and optimising stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
  • Providing guidance to wider IT teams in relation to database maintenance and monitoring
  • Defining technical solutions in tandem with Senior IT Stakeholders
  • Ensuring data integrity in company systems
  • Analysis and resolution of database performance issues
  • Providing regular reports on database performance and security to the management team
  • Consistently looking for opportunities to automate manual processes
  • Delivering and managing changes to production databases
  • Defining database backup and recovery policies
  • Providing input into database strategy, ensuring that implemented systems are in line with overall company strategy
  • Sourcing and managing 3rd party suppliers where appropriate
  • Ideal Technical Skills:
  • Experience of maintaining and monitoring production SQL Server instances (2008/2012/2014/2016)
  • Understanding of database design and development
  • Knowledge of T-SQL for database maintenance and data manipulation/queries
  • Knowledge of database performance troubleshooting and optimisation strategies
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery options and experience with their implementations
  • Experience in interfacing/integrating cross-database and cross-server systems.
  • Experience of SSRS and SSIS
