PPAP Quality EngineerTemporary contract for up to 18 months37.5 hours a week – DaysStourbridge Role Purpose: To be confident in applying Automotive PPAP requirements (4th edition) leading to the generation of comprehensive PPAP reports. Work in accordance with Automotive Standards IATF16949 / ISO9001 and apply/achieve customer specifics to maintain quality objectives and deploy continuous improvement opportunities. Key Candidate Skills needed:• ONC IQA Modules or MIQA • Experience Automotive 3 year minimum • ISO/ IATF16949 knowledge and experience • Knowledge of customer portals JLR, Lear, Perkins, Ford • Background Quality/Manufacturing environment Automotive Engineering • Interpersonal Skills Good communicator • Job Related Skills SPC, C Plans, FMEA’s, Quality tools, Problem Solving, Drawing, Computer • CMM - Mitutoyo, Lasor Scanning • APQP PPAP IMDS • Experience of working with 1st / 2nd tier customersMain Role Duties / Scope: • Fully conversant in reading 3rd angle geometric drawings interpreting datums, GDT and customer specifics as required. • Evaluate colour coded parts and prepare Appearance Approval Reports for submission to customer. • Ensure direct quality responsibility elements of the APQP/Pro Launch system are fully met and support the NPI teams throughout the project development and into manufacturing. • Review / update all quality documents in conjunction with fellow quality engineers to ensure they are accurate for the product and in line with IATF16949 /ISO9001 guidelines to meet the customer’s needs. Examples of documents - control plan, Parts Quality Report (PQR), gauge instructions, capability data and generating R&R studies. • Ensure that communication related to all quality issues is effective between shifts, in respect of manufacturing cell leaders, quality engineers etc, where required containment / corrective action is implemented and applied uniformly across all shifts. • Measure components using first principal measuring equipment & utilise CMM as required• Fully conversant in using Mitutoyo 3 axis measuring machine “bridge type utilising both Renishaw probes and a non-contact laser measuring device linked to the 3-axis measuring machine. “3 axis machine type Model 191-294R Crysta-Apex – S9166 Coordinate measuring machine” • Software: MCosmos 3, Cat1000 Cad, MSURF-S & MSURF-1
