EconomistWe are looking for a bright and enthusiastic self-starter whos keen to join a fast paced and dynamic team at the heart of NFUs Trade and Business Strategy department.Economist Responsibilities:As the NFU Economist, you will prepare and deliver specialist and strategic advice on key farming sectors to support the development and promotion of evidence-based NFU policies. You will also provide analysis and insight to a range of colleagues, members andopinion formers.You will play a key role in keeping the NFU abreast of relevant economic and business developments, and ensure that our lobbying voice is recognised for its analytical integrity and relevance.You will be responsible for analysing and effectively communicating complex information at all levels. You will have the confidence to bring your expertise to the table by influencing, persuading and providing strategic advice to a range of audiences.Economist Requirements: To be successful in this diverse and challenging role you will have the ability to provide timely, relevant and accurate information and analysis. You will be a natural team player with the ability to build strong internal relationships as well as identifying and influencing external stakeholders. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent and proven problem solving abilities. You will be adept at prioritising a busy schedule and work effectively under pressure when required. Astute and politically sensitive, youll be comfortable delivering lively and informative presentations to a variety of audiences as well as expertly handling media enquiries.About NFU:The National Farmers Union (NFU) represents the interests of farmers and growers across England and Wales.
