Job Description

AlexanderSteeleRecruitment are delighted to be working alongside a fantastic business in the Aberdeenshire area as they look to add a skilled NPD Technologist to their team.Reporting directly to the Product Design Manager you will be responsible for the management and ownership of assigned product development projects, under gate-stage process.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside cross-functional team to agree on the details of product design specification and critical path.
  • Liaise with suppliers to find solutions to technical and development challenges.
  • Development of recipe concepts.
  • With ingredient samples, review specifications and safety data sheets.
  • Liaise with various departments to develop and drive projects to agreed timelines.
  • Collate feedback and lead on further development until sign-off gates.
  • Use recipe management system to raise pilot plant recipes and costing requests.
The Candidate:
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, preferably within bakery.
  • Food Science/Technology degree
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proven experience in base-formulating on bench, translating to factory production, and onwards to commercial launch.
  • Passionate about food and product development.
  • Experience problem solving and adapting recipes to meet challenges with product process, cost criteria and ingredient availability.
